Deck Packs

Updated on August 5, 2026

A Deck Pack is EON's main container. Inside it you group all the decks and cards for a subject or project. Each Deck Pack has its own calendar, review settings, and visibility in the market.

Creating a Deck Pack

From the main screen press New Deck Pack, type a name, and confirm. The name must be unique in your account.

You can also import one from an .eon file with Import Deck Pack, or generate it with AI from a Theca summary using Generate with AI.

Renaming and deleting

Right-click (or long-press on mobile) on a Deck Pack to open the context menu. From there you can:

  • Edit Deck Pack — change the name.
  • Export Deck Pack — download a backup .eon file.
  • Delete — remove the Deck Pack along with all its decks and cards. This action cannot be undone.

Searching your Deck Packs

At the top of the main screen there is a search field. Type the first letters of the name to filter the list instantly.

Visibility: public or private

From the context menu you can toggle between Make Public and Make Private. A public Deck Pack appears in the Market and other users can clone it. A private one is visible only to you.

To publish to the Market the Deck Pack must be fully synced. If you see a pending sync notice, wait a few seconds and try again.

Freezing a Deck Pack

The Freeze deck option (available in the context menu of each deck inside the pack) puts that deck into Paused — silent, nothing scheduled mode: its cards stop appearing in the review queue but keep all their scheduling dates and review history.

Use this when:

  • You finish a subject and don't want it taking up space in your daily queue.
  • You passed an exam and want to rest those cards until the next one.
  • You need to focus on another subject for a set period.

To resume, select Unfreeze deck in the same menu. Cards return to the queue with their history intact: EON recalculates due dates from where they left off.

Per-Deck-Pack settings

Each Deck Pack can have its own review settings that override your account-wide defaults. Open Review Preferences from the sidebar and toggle fields on or off with the From account-wide settings switch. You can independently set the planning mode, new card limit, desired retention, and workload strategy for each pack.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have two Deck Packs with the same name? No. EON requires each name to be unique. If you try to duplicate it, you will see the message "A Deck Pack named … already exists".

Does freezing lose the scheduling dates? No. The full schedule is preserved. When you unfreeze, EON adjusts dates while respecting the accumulated history.

What happens to calendar events if I delete a Deck Pack? Events linked to that pack are deleted along with it.

Can I export a Deck Pack with the full review history? Yes. When exporting, enable the Include review history option. Use it only for personal backups, since the file includes session dates and durations.

Next step

  • Decks and subdecks — how to organize content inside a Deck Pack.
  • Review sessions — how each study session works in detail.
  • Publishing to the Market — share your Deck Pack with the community.
