Importing a .eon file

If someone shared a .eon file with you, you can load it into your account in just a few steps. The file contains decks, cards, images, and — if the person who exported it chose to include it — review history.

What a .eon file contains

A .eon file packages a complete Deck Pack: the deck and subdeck structure, all cards (text and diagram), and their associated images. It may also include review history (session dates and durations), but only if the exporter enabled that option.

If the file includes review history, EON will import it and adjust your schedule accordingly. If it does not, all cards will start as new.

How to import the file

  1. Open eon.noxdragon.com and sign in.
  2. In the sidebar, go to Deck Packs.
  3. Open the menu on an existing Deck Pack or use the Import Deck Pack button.
  4. In the Import Deck Pack modal, type the name you want to give it in your account.
  5. Drag the .eon file onto the drop area, or click it to browse your device.
  6. Click Import Deck Pack to confirm.

EON processes the file, uploads the images, and syncs everything with the server. You can follow the progress in the sync indicator.

If the import reports errors

When the file has cards with incomplete data or an invalid structure, the process rolls back and the app shows the errors. The most common ones are:

  • Error parsing file — the file is corrupted or is not a valid .eon file.
  • Failed to import deck or Failed to import cards — a deck or card could not be saved. Note the error and share it with whoever sent you the file so they can review it.

If errors persist, ask the person who generated the file to re-export the pack from EON.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import the same file more than once? Data will not be duplicated: EON detects if you already have that content and reconciles it automatically.

Does imported review history affect my streak? The history adjusts card due dates. Your personal streak is not modified retroactively.

What if a Deck Pack with the same name already exists in my account? The app will ask you to choose a different name before proceeding with the import.

How long does the import take? It depends on the file size. Images are uploaded to the server in the background and may take a bit longer.
