EON settings

EON separates settings into two levels: those that apply to your whole account, and those you can customize per Deck Pack.

Account settings — Review Preferences

Open the user menu in the top-right corner and choose Review Preferences. This is where you set the values that apply to all your Deck Packs unless you override them individually.

Settings are grouped into sections:

  • Planning — how EON decides what to study each day. The Planning mode options include auto, steady, exam focus, show all, and paused.
  • Workload — daily limits for new and review cards, and the distribution strategy (strict, balanced, or hybrid).
  • Algorithm — parameters for the spaced repetition engine: desired retention, maximum interval, interval fuzz, short-term steps, and the threshold and action for difficult cards.
  • General — timezone and language.

When you are done, press Save Settings. To go back to the recommended values at any time, use the Reset all to optimal defaults button.

Interface language

In the user menu, choose Language and select English, Spanish, or Portuguese. The change takes effect immediately throughout the app.

Timezone — why it matters

EON uses the timezone to determine when "today" starts and ends. If your timezone is wrong, cards may appear a day earlier or later than expected. Set it in the General section of Review Preferences, in the Timezone field.

Light and dark theme

From the user menu you can switch between light and dark mode at any time using the Switch to light mode or Switch to dark mode buttons, depending on which theme is currently active.

Review answer sound

In the General section of Review Preferences you will find the Review Answer Sound option. Enable or disable it according to your preference.

Per-Deck-Pack settings

Each Deck Pack can have its own review preferences. Open them from the Review Preferences option in the Deck Pack's sidebar menu. Fields where you enable From account-wide settings automatically use the global value. Fields you customize override the account setting only for that Deck Pack.

Resetting review history

Inside Review Preferences — both at the account level and per Deck Pack — you will find the Reset review history option. This returns all cards to their initial state and recalculates due dates.

This action cannot be undone. Use it only if you are sure you want to start the history from scratch.

Frequently asked questions

Do account settings affect all my Deck Packs? Yes, unless you have customized a Deck Pack individually. In that case, the Deck Pack settings take priority over the account settings.

Can I have different timezones per Deck Pack? No. The timezone is an account-wide setting that applies to the whole app.

What happens if I reset to optimal defaults? All planning and algorithm parameters are overwritten with the recommended values. Your review history is not changed.

Where do I change my password or email? Those details are managed in your NoxDragon profile, outside of EON.
