Workload Distribution
Updated on August 5, 2026
Knowing how many cards await you tomorrow is useful. Knowing what awaits you in ten days is what makes the real difference. The Workload Distribution projects your daily review volume for the coming weeks, so you can act before a peak catches you off guard.
Opening the forecast
In the Calendar, click the Workload Distribution button (the purple chart icon). A panel opens with the forecast chart for the upcoming days.
How the forecast is built
EON simulates your workload day by day using your review history and your daily limit settings. While it calculates, you'll see the message Simulating the next days…
The forecast is an estimate, not a promise: if you rate more cards as Good or Easy than usual, intervals lengthen and future load drops. If you fall behind or rate cards as Forgot, intervals shorten and load rises. The chart updates each time you click the refresh button.
How to read the chart
The chart shows one bar per day in the analyzed period. Each bar is divided into colored segments, one per Deck Pack. The legend below the chart shows which color corresponds to which pack.
Above the chart you'll find three key numbers:
- Daily Limit — the maximum reviews per day set in your Review Preferences.
- Average Load — the average percentage of cards relative to the daily limit across the period.
- Peak Load — the percentage on the busiest day.
If a day has a Rest Day event scheduled, its bar is replaced by a moon icon. No reviews are assigned that day.
Hovering over a bar shows a tooltip with that day's detail: total cards, breakdown by pack, and, if applicable, how many are Accumulated, New, Planned, and Leftover.
What it's for
The most common use: you open the chart a week before an exam and see one day has twice the cards of your daily limit. Without the forecast, that day surprises you; with it, you can act today.
Another common use: spotting that the next few days are light and taking the opportunity to make progress on Deck Packs you haven't touched in a while.
What to do when you see a peak
If the chart shows days with bars exceeding your Daily Limit, you have two options:
- Adjust manually — review your limits or change your planning mode for a better long-term distribution.
- Rebalance now — click Rebalance Now and EON redistributes excess cards from peak days to days with available capacity. EON shows a suggestion whenever it detects overloaded days.
Rebalancing shifts due dates within the range allowed by your configured distribution strategy. With Strict, moves are more conservative; with Balanced or Hybrid, EON has more room to spread cards.
Automatic nightly rebalancing
In addition to manual rebalancing, EON can redistribute load automatically every night if you have Automatic Workload Rebalancing enabled in Review Preferences. This way, the next day's chart already reflects a more even distribution without you doing anything.
Frequently asked questions
How often does the forecast update? The forecast is generated automatically. To see the latest data, click the refresh icon next to the panel title.
Does the forecast take my calendar exams into account? Yes. Upcoming exams appear in the strip above the chart and the simulation considers them when projecting load.
What does "Leftover" mean? Cards that were due on a given day but, after applying the daily limit, were pushed to the next day. Seeing high leftover for several consecutive days signals that your daily limit is tight relative to your card volume.
Does rebalancing move all cards? No. It only redistributes cards that exceed the daily cap toward days with available capacity. Cards you've already reviewed that day are not touched.
