Generate study cards for EON
Updated on August 5, 2026
Once a summary is ready in Theca, you can turn it into spaced-repetition flashcards in EON with a single click. Every card stays linked to the exact paragraph in the book it came from.
Where to find the button
Open any completed summary at theca.noxdragon.com and look for Generate study cards in the top bar. The button appears only when the summary is marked Completed — if sections are still pending, use Process remaining on the summary first.
What the form offers
Clicking the button opens the Generate study cards dialog with these fields:
- Name — the name the deck pack will have in EON. Theca checks in real time whether that name is already taken and warns you.
- Optional details — choose the Language for the cards, add a Description, and attach Tags.
Confirm with the Generate study cards button. Generation runs in the background so you can keep working in Theca while it finishes.
Tracking progress
While the cards are being created, the top bar shows live progress. If your AI quota runs out before the job finishes, a Process remaining cards button appears so you can resume once your quota refreshes.
When the job completes, a green notice with a View study cards link takes you straight to the new deck pack in EON.
Where the cards appear in EON
A new Deck Pack is created at eon.noxdragon.com under the name you chose. Inside there is one deck per section of the summary, and one card per cited premise. Each card shows the source passage and lets you open it directly in Theca.
This feature uses AI quota from your plan. If the quota runs out mid-generation, the cards produced so far are saved and you can continue with Process remaining cards later.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't the "Generate study cards" button showing? The button only appears when the summary is fully processed. If sections are still pending, use Process remaining on the summary to complete them first.
Can I generate cards from a summary that combines several books? Yes. The deck pack groups cards by summary section regardless of how many source books you used.
What if a deck pack with the same name already exists in EON? Theca detects this as you type the name and shows a warning. Change the name before confirming.
How many cards are created? One card per cited premise in the summary. The total depends on the depth and length of your summary.
